GCS 1.2.61 (and above) crashes #21

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. GCS version 1.2.61 or above
2. APM, mavlink and GPS (NMEA mode)
3. press "connect" (in gcs)
4. many "in: unknown message" (see screenshot)
5. you have 2 or 3 seconds to press "disconnect", else program crashes

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
see screenshot

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
GCS 1.2.61 and above, prev versions works fine.
But sometimes I see "IN: Unknown message", how to define content of wrong
message?

I have this too.
I think it is connected with waypoint reading. If i try to read waypoints, i
get a lot of this unknown data and waypoints are not received.

I did not notice this in 1.2.52.

Please try 1.2.76. I think I have it fixed.

I think that problem in GPS data.
When "Max GPS" = "none" then I dont see "IN: unknown message"
How to find binary content of "unknown message"?

Also 1.2.76 did not crashes, just show "unknown message".

What country do you have selected in your regional settings? (XP, it's
Settings, Control Panel, Regional Settings). Also, do you have API mode enabled
by chance on your X-Bee (if you don't know what that means, then the answer is
probably no)?

OS: Windows Server 2008r2 x64, English version.
Regional settings: Russian.
short date: dd.MM.yyyy, long date: "d MMMM yyyy 'г.'", long time: "H:mm:ss",
decimal symbol ","; digit grouping symbol " " (space).
X-CTU: "(0) AP - API Enable" value "0 - API OFF"

I just ran a test and selected Russian and it seemed to come through fine for
me. Which release of MAVlink are you running? I'm wondering if there's a bug in
previous versions (or even the one that's posted as a zip for download). I
usually update every couple days to the latest on the trunk.

Can you tell me any more about your hardware setup? When X-Bees are you using?
What baud rate on the X-Bee's? I see you're at 57600 for the COM selection,
just wondering if you have configured your X-Bees for the same. Also, have you
tried installing an older version of my GCS to see if it's my GCS that changed
or MAVlink?

Please keep an eye on this thread. He appears to have the same problem as what
you're seeing.

So far, I think it has to do with the pre-compiled firmware from the APM
planner.
