Code linting #7

As I go through this code to understand how it works I am reformatting (linting) portions to make it more readable. Generally this is limited to spacing and line length fixes. I realize that PRs for these types of changes are sometimes unwelcome. Do find them to be?

Totally fine with me! Most of this package has just been to facilitate my own work, so anything that makes it more useful or usable to others is most welcome!
