How will `quad` handle math typesetting? #3

I'm curious -- not being able to find an answer to this question is the main thing preventing me from investing a lot of time in this.

One thing that I do: I could use LaTeX to render and embed images. This is likely the best thing to do in the short term, as developing an entire mathematics rendering system seems very difficult.

  1. I can’t endorse anyone investing “a lot of time” in Quad because it is far from finished. And its finished form may be very different from its current form.

  2. I’m not sure the image layout is strong enough to do what you want. It’s been a while since I fiddled with it. Though maybe you’ve experimented and found it worthy.

  3. I’ve never had any ambition to create a replacement for LaTeX in math typesetting. And never will. It’s an interesting problem. But it’s not a problem I have. When I say in the docs that I want to “modernize the good ideas in LaTeX”, I mean the idea of turning an annotated text file into a layout.
