Condition reported in the forum was that a file containing ~20,000 product records having the primary record and one additional field when split generated ~10,000 Smaller files instead of the expected 5 files of 5000. Cause to be identified, which should lead to a solution or other suggestion.
For those where something similar has occurred, ftp was used to remove the files instead of allowing them to clutter the screen/load.
This leads to some other potential option(s) to perhaps be desired such as some sort of filter to support a larger quantity of files to be deleted at once (with filter to prevent touching files outside of the storage path).
