Patching 1.14.X with #738: Missing PR data

Sorry, I did not find any specific branch to create a PR for 1.14.0 version of the plugin.

We did some testing and the patch applied resolves the problem described in #738. We use this plugins with the Sonarqube 9.9.1 LTS in production.

Closing as abandoned given the PR has never merged cleanly and hasn't been fixed.
