I'd like to second this question, this seems like an awesome project, it's a shame if it's died.

I haven't worked on JRGSS in a few years, but there's a lot more completed than what's been posted here. If you're interested, I can brush off the code, upload it, and produce some releases, though it may not be very easy to use. Are you interested in running your own VX Ace games on mac? Or are you interested in playing games that have been posted online?

I'm interested in running VX Ace games on Linux. I have this Linux pocket computer I preordered that should do quite well, and the previous version I already have runs two games already that use libgdx.

I've done a lot less testing on Linux, but it I did have it working with Ubuntu using Nvidia's closed source drivers. Drivers without hardware acceleration support have dismal performance if they work at all (as you might expect). I've had others report it works with intel integrated graphics as well, but with some performance issues. In any case, I'll work on getting a Linux build posted first and you can let me know how it goes. Thanks for your interest! :)

I'll get a proper bug report, but I can even build the project to begin with.
