Buffer-related pops and clicks #224

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start Soundflowerbed, configure for 64 channel i/o
2. Start Soundflower, and then any audio applications
3. Mix and match sample rates and buffer sizes to taste.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Any output to Soundflower inputs cause clicks and pops. If I bypass Soundflower and Soundflowerbed, and go out directly to my audio interface, the clicks go away.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Soundflowerbed v1.6.6, Soundflower v 1.6.6b, Mac OS 10.8.4, Late 2009 MacMini
2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB RAM

Please provide any additional information below.
When audio is present, whatever the buffer size or sampling rate, the
clicks\pops are present. At 44.1, the clicks are about 250ms apart, while at
higher sample rates the clicks increase proportionately in frequency.

My intended usage was to use Soundflower 64 to handle audio out from Ableton
Live v8 to Vienna Ensemble Pro v5, and Soundflowerbed to output from VEP5 to my
FW410 for 5.1 Surround output.
