This is partially related to https://github.com/mcavoyk/Quirk/issues/24 and https://github.com/mcavoyk/Quirk/issues/14

Instead of having just "anonymous" users, there should be real user accounts, but have a route which allows API consumers to create a random user account which the UI can use.
