The original DV-DONGLE has a completely different communication model and would require a different low level protocol stack.
It should work with Robin's newer dv3k. On Sep 7, 2015 8:15 AM, "Kenny Richards" notifications@github.com wrote:
Is there any reason why a DV-Dongle wouldn't work with Buster?
I noticed you are checking ID codes, so when you plug in a DV-Dongle, Buster won't even see it....

Oh - I thought it was basically a TDV, with the older AMBE chip.
My recollection is that he decided to solve the problem like every other ham seems to: "Just throw a PIC in there and it'll be great!"
Robin's DV3K is supported. As Fusion and DMR become available soon The Dongle will be incapable of keeping up. This is not a good use of programmer cycles.
UPDATE: I tested Robin's DV3K and Buster see's it as /dev/cu.usbserial-D3010029 but doesn't report the ID
I'm not going to expend any effort supporting Robin's stuff. If he or his fans want to contribute support, the "Pull Request" button is up there.
