I have a new ThumbDV device, and I'm trying to use Buster 1.2.9 with it, on my Mac running Catalina 10.15.6. The device appears on the Vocoder tab of the Preferences window, as /dev/cu.usbserial-D307TG7X; I can confirm from System Information that this is the ThumbDV's serial number. However, no matter which of the two available baud rates I choose (230400 or 460800), it says "Vocoder Not Found".
This thread from the ThumbDV group ended up helping me solve my problem—I needed to unplug the ThumbDV and plug it back in while the Vocoder tab was open and the baud rate was set to 460800.
