Thanks for reaching out. I am happy to hear that you are using my extension and it is working well for you in most situations. I also had no idea that anyone forked my project. That is pretty cool!
So... I am afraid I don't have any good news for you. I created this project about 4-5 years ago specifically for a job role I had at the time. Since then I have changed job roles and don't have any need for that extension anymore. Because of that I have not really put any time or effort into improving the extension. The real issue is that I am not a developer. I pieced that together with the best of my capabilities and with a lot of help from friends who are developers. I would love to help you out; I simply don't have the technical expertise to even know where to start with that. Sorry.

Hello- this is new to me, (reaching out to the designer via Github. I don't know if this is okay) I love this extension, out of all the (few) mouse highlighter extensions that work on my school-loaned Chromebook. I love that I can change its size, color, transparency, outline, etc. I teach special education students digitally; in the classroom, we use a lot of pointing and such for visual cueing. I cannot be effective in my teaching online without this tool. So thank you. However, I cannot get it to work in presentation mode with Google slides. I tried inspecting the elements and compared them between presentation mode and not, to see if there was a component I could change, with no luck. This is about as far as my coding ability goes. I know this isn't a huge deal, I have been able to find a workaround, such as not using presentation mode, but eliminating elements in website code to make the slides show up big on my screen, similar to presentation mode. But for one particular group of students, with their vision issues and needing to view videos embedded into the sides, presentation mode is best for their ability to see and access the material. I believe I also have used one of the forked codes, by VonRehberg (called "mouse Pointer Highlighter" in the chrome store) This extension is the only one that works in presentation mode, however, I cannot change the color or transparency, and it actually blocks what I am pointing at rather than highlight it. SO, your code is better for me.
I would very much appreciate if you had time to look into this or offer any suggestions.

Thank you for your response. I understand not being able to help and thank you for taking the time to tell me so. It is very admirable that the code you put together as an amateur is one of the best; I will be continuing to use it for many/most of my teaching activities. So, if ever needing to impress someone, just tell them that a project you developed for yourself has ended up serving as an invaluable accessibility tool which is making a meaningful impact on digital learning for special education students. So thank you for putting the code out there here and in the chrome store for us to benefit from.
Best- Sarahm
