For what do I need the "codecs" pack? Installation ? #316

I prefer to download and install the "7z22.01-zstd-x64.exe" package

For what do I need the additional package "Codecs-x64.7z"?

If ZS does not work without this "Codecs-x64.7z" package: Why is it not included in standard package?

How do I install the "Codecs" stuff? Just by extracting it in ZS installation directory?

From README, you can install 7-Zip ZS in two variations:

  1. complete setup with additions within the GUI and a modified Explorer context menu
  2. only the codec plugin that goes to your existing 7-Zip installation (no GUI changes and no additional Hashers)
