I would suggest not adding the editor note for bearer of, at least not as
written, since it could confuse more than clarify. For example, that apple
could turn from red to brown. The phrase 'at least as long as' serves to fix
the persistence of the host as it pertains to the *stated* dependents, but that
apple could outlast other (unstated) dependents. Wording to clarify that last
part seems needed.

Ok, thanks. Is this better?
Revised editor note for 'bearer of': A host can have many dependents, and its
dependents can exist for different periods of time, but none of its dependents
can exist when the host does not exist.

Yes, that seems to address it just fine.

Because you are also adding properties for quality of and has quality (as
subproperties of these), I would suggest also adding and example that does not
involve a quality. For example, "this fragility inheres in this vase".
Also, I find the use of the word host here strange, because host is often used
much more specifically in biology. Perhaps you could use the word bearer, as in
"...the dependent specifically depends on the bearer for its existence...". Is
this too jargony? It does help users to become more familiar with the "bearer
of" relation.

Ok. Assembling all the suggestions:
RO_0000052 inheres in
- add textual definition: a relation between a specifically dependent
continuant (the dependent) and an independent continuant (the bearer), in which
the dependent specifically depends on the bearer for its existence
- add editor note: A dependent inheres in its bearer at all times for which the
dependent exists.
- add example of use: this red color inheres in this apple
- add example of use: this fragility inheres in this vase
RO_0000053 bearer of
- add textual definition: a relation between an independent continuant (the
bearer) and a specifically dependent continuant (the dependent), in which the
dependent specifically depends on the bearer for its existence
- add editor note: A bearer can have many dependents, and its dependents can
exist for different periods of time, but none of its dependents can exist when
the bearer does not exist.
- add example of use: this apple is bearer of this red color
- add example of use: this vase is bearer of this fragility
