Enhanced multi-site tracking #72

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

Name of API affected:
Analytics Data Export API

Request summary:
We work mostly with websites that have many local versions, meaning they
are available for a specific language, country or both. While this is not
an uncommon thing, current web analytics tools do not provide the ability
to effectively tag a site as being for a specific location and/or language
other then using custom variables.

What I would really like to see is the ability to specifically indicate the
site's country and language as well as a a specific section about site
location in Google Analytics where the most relevant dimensions and metrics
are shown in relation to site country and language combinations.

Use Cases:
By having this as a default property per site it will save a lot of time
that would be spent creating multiple filtered reports as well as custom
reports and advanced segments.

It will also standardize site country and language tracking which enables
benchmarking figures as well as creating new future functionality
specifically aimed at showing how well your local sites work on serving the
need of visitors bound to that location.

I really believe that this functionality would be a logical step in making
the localized web better.
