Thanks for the update. I see this is visible at http://mczbase.mcz.harvard.edu/guid/MCZ:Herp:R-49457, the next question is when will this appear in VertNet and GBIF?
I believe both Vertnet and GBIF use our IPT resources which are published weekly (On Wednesdays, currently). So the longest it would take to show up in our IPT resource would be 7 days. I cannot however speak to how often GBIF and Vertnet “harvest” and re-index. That is a question best addressed by the folks in either of those groups.

As of last night, the data were updated in VertNet. http://portal.vertnet.org/o/mcz/herp?id=r-49457
Nice!
This specimen is listed as being from Africa, but it's not an African taxon. Looking at the image of the catalogue http://ids.lib.harvard.edu/ids/view/11736417?buttons=y the locality for this specimen is given as "7 miles s. e. of La Foa, New Caledonia". Looks like the same error has been made for other specimens from this locality (see records in GBIF for Caledoniscincus austrocaledonicus http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?TAXON_KEY=2461897&SPATIAL_ISSUES=false&GEOMETRY=-31+-18%2C-31+19%2C25+19%2C25+-18%2C-31+-18
