RHEL 8 comes with Lua 5.3, which is not supported by Wireshark yet.

That's why the RHEL 8 packaged Wireshark is compiled "without Lua".

Attaching a patch (remove the .txt extension) and a README how to get this working on RH8: Re-packaging Wireshark from src.rpm against compat-lua packages (Lua 5.1).
