OI Flashlight: Camera flash does not work on all devices

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In OI Flashlight, use menu > Preferences > Use camera flash (turn on).
2. Go back and press to enable camera light.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The camera flash works on certain devices:
* Google Nexus One.

It does not work on other devices:
* Acer Iconia Tab A500
* Samsung Droid Charge
* Motorola Droid Bionic

Please list other devices below for which it works or does not work.

Either we find workarounds to make flashlight work on other devices, or we 
present a dialog that flashlight may not work on all devices.

So I guess one needs to implemet a surface view and start the camera preview 
(even if we don't want to show the camera preview to the user) in order to 
start the flash on many devices.

I can confirm that the LED doesn't work on the Nexus S.

The LED does not work on my Nexus S with Android 2.3.6 and OI Flashlight 1.1.
