I believe autofocus is not supported on iOS Safari... or, perhaps it only has partial support.

Autofocus is either not supported or only partially supported on iOS Safari.

I submitted a BCD issue, https://github.com/mdn/browser-compat-data/issues/23351, but closed it, as this is "to move" and will likely get moved there. Sorry for the spam.
