Back to recovery menu after selecting install disk #2

Asus ROG Zenith Extreme 1950x Threadripper Samsung 970 NVME AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition

I can get to the recovery menu/macOS Utilities, I can see the disk and I can select the disk to install to; problem is that it goes right back to the recovery menu/macOS Utilities after selecting the disk and hitting Install.

I tried with 2 NVME disks and a PCIe ssd from Intel - all perform the same and I don't know what else to try.

did you encounter anything similar?

@ciokan did you manage to resolve this issue? Having the same!

I just bought a Mac Pro man. Don't have time for this bs :) I wasted 2 weeks on these errors and almost f'ed up my entire setup messing with the hardware and pcie slots and whatnot to no avail.

Haha. I was about to do the same thing, But I managed to resolve the issue. It was some corsair USB devices that are plugged into the motherboard USB ports that causes the issue. I have Mac OS Big Sur installed and working well for now.

I have the same mobo, Asus Zenith Extreme with a 2950x and I have it running. I'm looking to upgrade the firmware and update macOS. I want to use this firmware below: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/offer-asus-rog-zenith-extreme-bios-uefi-v2601-mod-rom-see-post-88/35408/88?filter=summary

Any help would be appreciated.
