❤️ the two video rotation scripts. That said, a couple of thoughts about the two scripts.

Just a couple of ideas I had after watching the youtube video.

cheers 🍻

Oh wow. I wonder why I didn't get a notification for this.

Glad you are finding the scripts useful! :D I haven't actually used them all that much since writing them funnily enough.

Those are all good suggestions. You're right, they probably should include a check for dependencies like ffmpeg and exiftool. Another change I'd like to make is to use exiftool's json output instead of sed'ing the human output.

I've actually been playing with MLT a lot recently. It's a framework built on top of ffmpeg and underpins Kdenlive and Shotcut. The idea being rather than having to transcode to rotate, transcode to timestamp, transcode to stitch together, I can just do it all in one pass.

Videos to come. ;)

Looking forward to seeing your videos. 👍 I too have started using shotcut as well. Really like what I've seen / been using so far. Running Kdenlive on macOS is a total PITA, so that's not really an option for me. And I tried messing around with blender some, but it's video editing capabilities are slow and clunky to say the least. And I was getting awful results with transcoding videos I had edited in blender 🤦‍♀️, so I'm sticking with Shotcut for the time being.

And I am primarily using these rotate scripts to rotate videos I shot on my iphone as sometimes when I import them their rotated. Thanks again for putting these together and sharing them.
