@lordofthegithub I'm not sure I follow, the Email processor needs both the name and email address of the sender, the Contact Reference field returns only the name, so that won't work.
To update the plugin, simply deactivate and then delete your current version, and then download a zip or a specific release and upload to you site through Plugins -> Add new -> Upload Plugin
@mecachisenros thanks for the reply.
Kindly look at the updated https://www.menscommission.in/send-email-to-member-of-parliament/;
I am capturing 4 details from the Sender: 1.Your First Name / Given name 2.Your Last Name / Surname 3.Your Email * 4.Your Mobile
For the Recipients (are politicians contacts already) in my CiviCRM database, I am using Contact Reference Field. Which the user can select from the drop down list while filling the above form.
The Intent is that
In essence , I intend to store the store the text in the message body "Dear Sir...." , as body of email/notes/activity on the contact record that is chosen from the Contact Reference field.
That said, what am I doing wrong - Did I get the intent or purpose or approach wrong as it relates to Send Email functionality and Contact Reference Field ?
I am sending you credentials again.
Hi all,
I am really glad that @mecachisenros has built such an amazing plugin for CiviCRM-Caldera Forms.
I would like to use the Contact Reference Field in the Caldera Forms in the following way: https://www.menscommission.in/send-email-to-member-of-parliament/ The user fills his/her details, then selects the elected official and review the body of the text and then hit Send. The email should go to the MP selected; and be logged as such in the Activity (of sender) as well as Mailings (of receiver). However, in the Form Processors, where the Sender is mapped to Contact 1 and Recipient(MP) is mapped to the Contact 2, I don't KNOW or HAVE a way to map the Contact ID needed to process further.
The SEND EMAIL processor works for other fields such as an ALTERNATE receiver but not the Contact 2 that is Mapped to the Contact Reference Field. Any help would be much appreciated.
I do see that @mecachisenros has flagged https://github.com/mecachisenros/caldera-forms-civicrm/issues/73 for Help Wanted and there may be some developments outstanding.
Also, I am wondering if there is a process or procedure to update the Caldera-Forms-CiviCRM plugin once @mecachisenros and team release further updates to their code and newer functionality; as this plugin was installed like CiviCRM by uploading versus installing from WordPress plugin central.
Many thanks and best wishes to this community!
