Piksi Multi & Piksi Multi Inertial End of Life #10

Open moorepants opened 10 months ago

I just received an email that Swiftnav will no longer manufacture the Piksi. That's unfortunate news.

We need to download copies of all documentation, github repos, and information about the device in case they remove it from their website.

The EOL date is March 15, 2024.

I don't think they would remove the information, but we should copy it in case.

Here is the info from the letter:

Jason,

We are reaching out to notify you that Swift Navigation’s Piksi Multi and Piksi Multi Inertial GNSS receiver boards, evaluation kits, and accessories will reach end-of-life effective March 15, 2024.

Over the last 10 years, Swift has made significant strides to advance our mission to build a safer and more efficient future by changing the way we understand and navigate every centimeter of the planet. Today, our portfolio of precise positioning solutions power more than 5 million precise location-enabled devices across industries – from autonomous vehicles to outdoor robots, delivery vehicles, drones, mapping solutions, and the next generation of location-based mobile apps.

Every day we evolve our products and services to better meet the needs of our customers. In the time since you purchased your Piksi, we launched our SkylarkTM Precise Positioning Service, a hardware-agnostic, cloud-based GNSS corrections service, that delivers reliable centimeter accurate positioning with uniform performance and the broadest geographic coverage in the industry.

Deployed and operated in partnership with MNOs, SkylarkTM is backed by commercial-grade SLAs and interoperable with an ever growing list of popular 3rd party receivers — from chipsets to modules, positioning engines, and entire systems — making it easier and more cost effective than ever for you to enable precise location in your products.

If you are interested in learning more about Skylark, please don’t hesitate to contact us today or sign up for a Skylark account to test it out.

If you are interested in alternative receivers, please contact sales to discuss GNSS receivers validated by Swift to be compatible with Skylark, such as:
