What I did: Following you compilation instructions, I built a new version of the installer based on current source code. Tested it on a Windows 10 Pro 1607 VM with original RS3D CDROM in the VM virtual CD drive, the installation was OK unlike the previous v0.96 installer that did not found the CDROM.
This pull request should then close issue #6 and #8.
I am not able to test it on another Windows version, but as Windows 10 tend to be the mainstream OS I think you can publish it without problem.
