Pip deprecating py2 #396

As per: https://pip.pypa.io/en/stable/news/#id1

Maybe we will need to adjust containers and/or docs to make sure we are not automatically using the latest pip to avoid issues.

yep indeed at least until we can work on migrating to py3...
