Hi ophoboo:

First
=====
Run the "update.php" script from the command line and note any errors. See
"http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Update.php" on how to run it.

Second
======
There should have been a second call similar to the following:

Start request GET /[... elided
...]/index.php?action=ajax&rs=PageAttachment%5CAjax%5CgetPageAttachments&rsargs%
5B%5D=Sidebar&rsargs%5B%5D=56ST154GUS8DU69NXNAN2V4
HTTP HEADERS:
[... elided ...]

Is "JavaScript" disabled?
Or, getting any JavaScript error?

Third
=====
Check the source of the loaded page. There should be a line to load
PageAttachment JavaScript module, similar to the following:

<script src="/[... elided
...]/extensions/PageAttachment/skins/js/page-attachment.js?[... elided ...]">

Is it there?

Let me know.

Sincerely yours,

Aldrin

Hi Aldrin,

I am having the same issue. In regard to your suggestions:

1. Is running update.php the same as using the web updater located at
yourwiki/mw-config/? I cannot execute php scripts on my server, so I had to use
the web updater. Perhaps there is some critical difference. If it is critical
to use the update.php method, I will contact my server admin and get him to do
it for me.

2. In reference to suggestion 3, by 'loaded page' do you mean any MediaWiki
page after the PageAttachment install has been complete? In that case, I do not
see the code to load the JavaScript module, although I do see the blue line
refereed to by the OP.

Thanks.

Jon

Hi Jonathan:

I did some preliminary tests and looks like web updater is not updating
database settings for the extensions.

Would you please run the "update.php" program located under "maintenance"
directory from the command line:

   php maintenance/update.php

The output should either say (toward the end) that the following three tables
got created or already exist:

  1) page_attachment_data
  2) page_attachment_delete_data
  3) page_attachment_audit_log

Suggestion 3 is a moot point unless the tables already exist. Let's first make
the tables got created.

Please, let me know.

Sincerely yours,

Aldrin

I have a problem when I run update.php. All the time I get following ouput on

Ah my fault! I have to run the script like this: php5 update.php

Now I get followed error:

(uiserver):u56477286:~/creade_de/mediawiki/maintenance > php5 update.php

On the line 160 of the file SetupExtension.php I found this:

Seems like the character "\" is wrong here...

Ok I figured one thing more out: I have the wrong version of PageAttachment.
Since the system says I have PHP/5.2.17 (I thought I have 5.4) I need this
version of the extension: MediaWiki PageAttachment 3.0.2 - PHP 5.2.3.

Now the update script runs and I have two tables more in the database:

- page_attachment_data
- page_attachment_delete_data

But still no table "page_attachment_audit_log". Is this table really needed?

By the way: the JS module is existing in the source code:
<script
src="/mediawiki/extensions/PageAttachment/skins/js/page-attachment.js?303"></scr
ipt>

Now the entire log:

And what do you mean with this:

There should have been a second call similar to the following:

Hi ophoboo:

The following need to be fixed for PHP 5.2.3:

   Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) ......
   ...... /magicword/MagicWordHandler.php

It looks like you are using PHP 5.2.17 -- MediaWiki versions 1.19 & 1.20
require PHP 5.2.3 (at the minimum) (See system requirements at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Download). You might be able run MediaWiki fine
most of the time; however, you would encounter unexpected errors.

If you cannot upgrade to at least PHP 5.2.3 them my recommendation would be to
use MediaWiki 1.18 & PageAttachment version 2.2.0 PHP 5.2.

Sincerely yours,

Aldrin

Hi ophoboo:

Is the suggestion to upgrade to PHP 5.2.3 or downgrade PageAttachment to
version 2.2.0 worked?

Sincerely yours,

Aldrin

User was using PageAttachment 3.0.0 with PHP 5.2.17 and MediaWiki 1.19.2.

PageAttachment 3.0.0 is for MediaWiki 1.19 & 1.20.
Both MediaWiki 1.19 & 1.20 requires PHP 5.2.3 at the minimum.

Recommended the user to either upgrade to PHP 5.2.3 or higher or use MediaWiki
1.18 and PageAttachment 2.2.0.
