A block of mass 1.3 kg is attached to a spring whose force constant, k, is 250Nm.  What is the frequency and period of the oscillations of this spring-block system?

Videos like The equation of a wave are unnecessary to watch if you're comfortable with trigonometry.

meech-ward commented 7 years ago

Today and yesterday I worked on the start of oscillations and waves. A lot of it is trigonometry, which I am very comfortable with, so it's just a bit of review. It's nice to see it used in the real world though. I feel that it would have been nice to have a better understanding of calculus before taking physics too. I might try to complete the khan differential and integral calculus courses before continuing on with more advanced physics after this physics course.

Next time, on to sound https://www.khanacademy.org/bigbingo_redirect?continue=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.khanacademy.org%2Fscience%2Fphysics%2Fmechanical-waves-and-sound%2Fsound-topic%2Fv%2Fproduction-of-sound&conversion_ids=condensed_tutorial_title_click

Today I learned about sound wavelengths, periods and the speed of sound. There are 4 video's at the beginning of this section that kind of introduce sound. I think it would be good to do some practice about sound properties after watching the 4th video which I'm doing next time.

A cool resource for more on sound as a mechanical wave http://www.physicsclassroom.com/class/sound/Lesson-1/Sound-is-a-Mechanical-Wave

I completed the 4 sound videos, this resource is great for more information and practice questions: http://www.physicsclassroom.com/class/sound/Lesson-2/The-Speed-of-Sound

today I learned more about the speed of sound and did some practice questions about that. I also larned about decibels and mach
