I updated the library to use the latest library pieces.

I'm uncomfortable pointing libraries to dev-master. Can we please lock it down to at least the minor semver level?

This should be all implemented in the 3 separate PR's attached to this PR. Thanks for your time on this! I just needed to make some different changes than what was requested.
