Locale-xxxx.MPQ loading error #265

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Attempting to load world of warcraft in the model viewer

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

For World of Warcraft to load successfully and to be able to view models in the
model viewer.

Instead, I get an error telling me to be sure I'm loading 'Locale-xxx.MPQ', and
that this file is vital for rendering models correctly, and the file list is
disabled.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

WMV_v0701_r614_Win32(the only one that will start for me) on Windows 7

Please provide any additional information like screenshot and log.txt
below.

I've attempted to locate 'Locale-xxxx.MPQ' with no luck, creating a file by
that name didn't work either. Searching the internet, I discovered that older
versions of WMV apparently had this problem, but I couldn't find any helpful
information.

Try running the repair tool, or re-download WoW. Sometimes there's a corruption
that WoW isn't effected by, but WMV is.

Was there ever a fix for this, never had trouble with previous versions, but i
am unable to use this program anymore due to the error above. Nothing i do
seems to make a bit of difference. Been trying to do something for months now...
