To replicate:

Open megasync on Steamdeck. Select add sync. Once on the add folder screen after you select a "Local folder" mega sync will completely freeze and be unresponsive. Based on reviews from the Discover application (which helps you find and install applications, games, and tools on Linux) there are multiple reviews regurgitating this issue.

I experience the same behavior on Fedora 38, using the flatpak version 118.0.5993.88.

It completely prevents me from setting up a Sync.

Edit: it is working when installing via .rpm, the flatpak seems to open a nautilus folder picker window while the rpm uses an app internal window. Maybe the flatpak does not handle this well?

@Lcchy Unfortunately, installing AUR packages (Steam OS is Arch btw based) is not a good option. Also giving permissions through FlatSeal doesn't help. Hopefully it'll get fixed :(

Also, not sure if that's allowed here, I've ended up configuring rclone.

Also facing a similar problem here. Any updates on this?

DinoMC commented 7 months ago

Same here. It's not just sync, anything that require choosing a folder (new backup, folder settings, ...) just fail and makes MEGA hang in a weird way with no error. Folder picker is broken.

Downgrading to an older versions fixed the problem for me

Strange, I'd tried that before and it didn't work but now I can confirm it does. Thanks a million!
