Are the devs considering to setup an F-droid repo? Been a while since this issue was opened.
Thanks for the request/suggestion. At the moment we are not considering this option, but we will study the possibility of doing so in the future.

Was looking through possible f-droid suggestions and this was the 2nd one out of the only 2 that I found, has a repo been reconsidered yet? especially for those who want to rid google out of their lives but still want to enjoy mega.
Summary
Many users run Android without Google Play Services and thus no Google Play Store. Providing an F-Droid-like repository will support those users and enable them to have a reliable and up to date source for the Meganz apks.
40 and #9 stalled out due to the argument that the meganz license is not compatible with F-Droid. While this is true, F-Droid does not prevent third party application distributors from setting up their own F-Droid-compatible repository server (in fact, they promote it).
Short of building the code in this repository manually there is no secure source for MEGA.nz apks. The alternative is getting the apk from some untrustworthy third party that mirrors Google Play's catalogue.
