Hi @ngrayluna, while this is nice in principle I don't think it works as expected? For me the loading screen only shows up until the page itself is loaded (which is pretty fast) but not until the events are loaded..?
Interesting. When I tested it the overlay disappeared when the page loaded and the events were plotted.
Let me try again tomorrow, but this time I will try the overlay with twice as many events. I will also try a different .js snippet as well and hopefully one will provide the desired result.

How many events do you have in your DB? For me it only starts to have a noticeable loading time with at least 1000 events.
It looks like I only had about 600 events. I am populating more now. I'll test the "loading_screen" and "percen_loading_screen" branch when I have more events. (They use different scripts for loading time).

Still need to look at .css controlling the sidebar navigation since the buttons/input boxes (i.e. 'time range', 'base layer', etc.) show throw the overlay with the spinning wheel.
