First item in taxon_list.txt is not included in database #2

Hi Emese,

After a bit of using the select_taxa.pl to create different databases with different taxonomic group I found that the first item or taxon in my taxon_list.txt was not actually showing in the taxa_with_lineage.tsv file. I tried putting only one taxon in the taxon_list.txt and it returned empty tsv files.

Are you identifying this behavior as well or is it only on my end ?

Everything work perfectly when putting a dummy word as first item of the list though, so everything can work but I figured I would bring this up to you.

Thanks a lot, Louis

Hi Louis,

The taxon list has a title line and it is it ignored when reading the file. There is an example in the I/O section of the readme, but it is true that it is somewhat hidden at the end of the readme. I just added a line in the tutorial section to warn the users.

I am planning to format the readme to a Read the Docs soon, and complete it with links for easier use, but I have not found the time to do that so far.

Thanks for the feeadback! It really helps.

Emese

Hi Emese,

I didn't read through this section, that`s my bad :) I do think the links would help make the section more visible.

Thanks for pointing it out, and thanks again for the great tool ! I love it !

Louis
