Sorry for the lack of content in this game! I was feeling pretty burnt out so there's really only one room to explore. Hope you're still able to enjoy the experience tho :D

Questions

  1. Do you like the static screen/lack of movement or would you prefer more control of the angle?
  2. Was the textbox visible/positioned well on the screen?
  3. Was there any difficulty clicking the items in the room?
  4. Describe what you believe was happening/what the story could be? (You can also give ideas of what it COULD be ;) )
  5. Any ideas to improve the experience?

  1. Do you like the static screen/lack of movement or would you prefer more control of the angle? I like the static! Keep it simple.

  2. Was the textbox visible/positioned well on the screen?

Yes:)

  1. Was there any difficulty clicking the items in the room?

They didn't interact, but I could click em.

  1. Describe what you believe was happening/what the story could be? (You can also give ideas of what it COULD be ;) )

I love this creepy setting. Unknown location, unknown context, unknown building. I believe this is the perfect context for a horror game.

  1. Any ideas to improve the experience? Add creepy elements all throughout the Motel. The longer you stay... the more weird things get...

Anyways hope u feel better soon!

Edit: Forgot to add credit but most models are from this City model pack

Answers from Sharon:

Before diving in, I got to say that the motel looks fabulous, I am a huge fan of your modelling skills!

Do you like the static screen/lack of movement or would you prefer more control of the angle? At first, I wasn't sure if I should be the one moving to the rooms, then it started moving on its own. I had a strong impulse to use the arrow keys to move so that I can be able to choose the room I head into. So I feel like on the outside of the motel, I want to be able to move.

Then inside the room, the layout looks like it's set up to be static (I'm able to see all the objects at once without needing to rotate) and I can interact by clicking without needing to move around, so it makes sense if you keep it static.

Was the textbox visible/positioned well on the screen? Yes it was! Here's how it looked on my screen: image

Was there any difficulty clicking the items in the room? I wasn't sure what was clickable and what wasn't, so it was confusing at first whether the clicking was the issue or I just wasn't clicking the right thing. I think putting some sort of indicator that something is clickable would help (e.g. making a clickable object glow on hover, or having something spin around the object on hover, or changing its tint on hover, whatever your heart desires).

Awww, cute plant indeed ;) image

Also, cute burger image

Describe what you believe was happening/what the story could be? (You can also give ideas of what it COULD be ;) ) From the title, I can gather that someone died or will die in the motel, and you must figure out who the murderer is before you get killed. This deduction is done by interacting with the items in the surroundings to figure out what has happened (or what will happen). So maybe I'm playing as the detective (or omg, I can be playing as a little child who is very vulnerable and has to figure out where their parents are before the murderer gets to the parents or to the child). The murderer could be the child's sibling or something, the one you'd least expect.

Any ideas to improve the experience? The lights can flutter! Blackouts once in a while, spooky background music will add a lot to the experience.

The one-room experience is enough for me to grasp the concept of your game and I am SUPER pumped to see what the other rooms have in store. I feel sorta claustrophobic in the main room since there are no doors, no natural light, it feels cramp and dirty and just the right atmosphere for a murder motel.
