Was the maze too dark or were you able to navigate it easily?
It was much better than last time! It was perfectly dark (to too easy, not pitch black), and the lights made it increasingly easier to navigate - very smooth!
On a scale of 1-10 how hard was the maze? Can you estimate how long it took you to complete?
I think I either got stuck or the maze I tested was super small? To be honest, I only found the ruby gem and when I collected it I got teleported in front of the door and into another space with 4 walls but not an actual maze, without nowhere else to go. Maybe you're still working on this?
Was the text in the first cutscene too out of place? What would you prefer instead?
Actually, the book didn't display at all at first hahah, just its text. However, after closing and re-opening it, it worked and display fine. Other than that, I thought it was cute. Maybe it'd be nice to see variations of the same concept - like, instead of a book smth on the wall? But I thought the book is neat as it it
Was the goal of the maze clear? Do you think you could figure out the controls and goal without the tutorial book?
Hmmm, I think mazes and collectibles are familiar enough structures that I would have eventually understood the game's goal even without the book, especially with the little cutscenes you included (which btw were 🔥) - like the door's spot "filling" with the ruby gem. However, I do think it was nice to include the book at the start and make it accessible throughout the gameplay.
I plan to add 2-3 more mazes, all of them bigger and harder than the one in this prototype, do you think you'd need some kind of hint system? If so, what kind of hint would you like?
Hmmm I don't believe so? They could get more complicated (like who's in the maze with you👀) but I don't think hints would be necessary - the little lighting system provides a neat mapping feature.
What do you think of the narrative so far? (feel free to explain what you think the story is)
OMG THAT INTRO CUTSCENE 💖💖💖💖 It all reminded me of earlier Tomb Raider games, loved it. I'm not sure if I'm trying to escape or if I'm intruding to collect hidden treasures but who cares, I love this.
Were there any issues I should know about? (if there was a glitch of any kind be specific so I can try and fix it!!)
The only thing that left me confused was the little issue described above - I only found around 5 lights and 1 ruby gem which would bring me into another room without the possibility of completing the game
