Unicode character conversion #26

Not sure how to submit a question for the developers. 

I need some help finding out how VMware encodes unicode characters when 
creating files on a VMFS volume. 

For example:

Ǽsir -> +x7w-sir.vmdk
ΥðểÞĘŊǻằẶǼ -> +zqXDsOG7g8OexJjFise74bqx4bq2x7w.vmdk

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
