I just realized that we now have a footer suggesting other posts...and may not be super great looking.

Yes seems so. I guess this is not super good-looking because we're using an old template that was supposed to work with v3.x of Ghost (and now it's v5.x)

We could ask Meilisearch workers what are the blog designs they love, especially technical blogs.

The theme will have to comply with SEO best practices (as described in Ghost resources) Among them, we need pagination.

Weirdly, I find the article better looking in the back office compared to their published version that I find super dismal.

We need something that helps us update blog posts and feature them without maybe having to change their date. Possibly a Last edited on date ?

We've asked our team and community to share the blogs they liked and point what they like about them in particular, the blogs mentioned were: Medium, Vercel, and Posthog.

According to the feedback collected so far, the layout should have:

• categories to ease navigation
• a search bar
• enough white space to make content legible
• an easy-to-read body font: big enough (20px)
• clear font hierarchy
• dark and light modes

The brand personality should be shown through custom icons and illustrations

Some of the blogs mentioned also have useful functionalities in the right part of the articles:

• social media share buttons
• table of contents
• edit page button (link to the article page on GitHub as here)
• raise an issue button (link to GitHub)
• form to subscribe to the newsletter

The restyling will wait until we have more news on how we worked with our web agency which is currently working on the landing page and our documentation website. I don't expect this to happen before Q2 2023.
