You know there's already deuterium/tritium fusion in Mekanism, right? Would be rather redundant. We already need a large amount of energy in a laser amplifier to start the reaction. Deuterium and tritium both require a good amount of infrastructure to produce. The current fusion reactor doesn't require turbines either, and you can just disconnect the fuel and power lines to turn it off.
Describe the feature you'd like
I came across a video talking about a new kind of fusion technology.
If it were implemented in Mekanism, it would basically late-game technology for energy production should the player need this kind of energy. You'd need large high-output matrixes to act as capacitors in order to start the reaction process or something. You'd probably also need another machine to generate the deuterium and helium-3 that it requires.
This reactor wouldn't require steam turbines to generate power, and could be instantly shut off.
See the links for more info on how they work in real life.
