There's a muffler mod that's client side only. Adjust any sound you like for mods or vanilla. I use it and it makes my experience much better. Also, I don't have to bother with muffler upgrades in the machines that support them.
the thing is though that all the other machine sounds are very mild, even the crusher isnt exactly loud by any means, I dont tend to worry about using muffling upgrades, but the fission reactor on the other hand is clearly broken, its audio plays so loud that you can actually hear it clipping the mixer. It really seems like no one bothered to even check that the reactor works at all, which is strange of itself considering that half of the main mod is locked away behind the fission reactor, making the generators sub-mod not even optional unless you specifically only want the metals refinement and nothing else...
Issue description
When the fission reactor runs it makes an extremely loud droning noise, which for one thing makes zero sense since theres nothing there that would even make a sound remotely similar, but more importantly it is extremely loud and drowns out sounds over a very wide chunk radius, I recommend this be reduced in float value volume by a factor of 10-20, or removed entirely.
The only sounds fission reactors make are from any cycle pumps (multi-chamber high pressure coolant, external boiling buffer tanks) or fans (gas multi-chamber, external low pressure boiling heat exchanger), and clicks of control rods being moved between positions (brake lock-unlock, servo motion, pwm motor motion). All of these require large amounts of external power but dont generally produce large amounts of noise, doing so would indicate a major problem such as coolant stall from pressure control loss.
