I have the same problem.
I can dim the screen by using fn+f12, but fn+ins doesn't work.
I have to use the slide bar to make the screen brighter.
It's not a really serious problem, but I should be careful not to turn off the
screen by dimming it all the way
down. ;)
If you can fix this problem, or provide me a solution, it will be very grateful.
Thanks~ :)

I also have the same problem, but cannot use any keys to change the brightness
at
all. Would also be very grateful if a fix for this could be included in further
updates. I know that this issue is one that affects all NC10 users and I'm sure
we'd
all appreciate a fix.

Thanks :)

@4: The solution didn't work for me. There are some others in the forum who
experience the same problem.

@2: Have you made any modifications to your NetbookInstaller setup, to enable
brightness regulation? I have a
clean install and I can neither use the hotkey nor do I see any slider in the
displays preferences.

Issue 191 solves most of the problem.

Issue 191 and replacing the ApplePS2Controller with the VoodooPS2Controller
solves problem completely.

Now I can change hte brightness using the preferences pane and the keyboard
(FN-F12 and Fn-Ins).

Must be an issue with the keyboard driver not mapping a key correctly. I'll try
to look into it.
