Known.
OS X never had support for the Intel Atom. It just that some changes in 10.6.2 
(which generally isn't tested for 
compatibility with non mac hardware) is more specific to the core 2 duo and 
similar cpus.

Easiest fix is the one stated in the link, however a kernel patch could easily 
be used once the xnu sources are 
releaed.
