What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install and upgrade 10.6.1 on a Dell Mini 9
2. Attempt to use dual head on a Panasonic overhead projector
3. Attempt to use dual head on a HP 1740 or Dell monitor
What netbook are you using this on?
Dell Mini 9. This also happens on a Samsung NC-10 with absolutely identical
results, so must be
common to the hardware or the way it attempts to select a way to set the
resolution.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- Garbled (vertical bars) but mirrored display on the projector
- Perfect extended desktop on the HP or Dell
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
NBI 0.8.3RC3 on 10.6.1
Please provide any additional information below.
This did not happen in 10.5.8 (at least on the Dell). I had no trouble with any
external displays,
and used these three routinely until upgrading
I am attaching partial ioreg dumps from when the netbook has no external
display attached and
for the success (HP 1740) and failure (Panasonic projector) cases.
