bios settings changed after reboot #152

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Issue 120 refers - unable to recover after sleep (close lid) - black screen.
120 resolution advised
ensure USB legacy disabled. I need to use the sleep - reboot once a month as
per macbook

Assumed (because tried and tested to be true): when bluetooth or USB legacy
disabled - recover
from sleep works perfectly

boot - F2 disable USB legacy / bluetooth

run OSX - 10.6.1 - login - shutdown

boot - F2 the previous bios settings have been reverted to enable

workaround:

Disable - bluetooth OR USB leagacy on start. Sleep works correctly until
restart - where bios
settings need to be disabled.

what didn't work - removing the bluetooth kext file from Extra and running
UpdateExtra

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

Updated with RC4 using safe mode.
Problem persists.
Workaround: disable Bluetooth after every restart.

This solution still resets the bios after a restart / shutdown. (10v on A04)
I don't have a problem with sleep / close lid at all - IF I change the bios on
boot. I leave the netbook in sleep
most of the time only restarting when needed - this is why the close lid was a
symptom of the bios reset nothing
to do the close lid to sleep.

btw - everything works if I disable bluetooth or / and USB legacy - one OR the
other OR both

After loading an DSDT.aml the problem went away. But see issue 158.

It seems that NBI 0.8.3RC4 does not create a dsdt.aml. After running NBI 0.8.2
once,
there is a dsdt.aml (lowercase) present and then everything is fine.

interesting. I originally ran 0.8.2 and upgraded to 0.8.3 - would not the
original dsdt.aml file stay? I'll run this
and let you know. The only issue I have is the reseting bios - sleep, trackpad,
sound all resolved through kext
files. I'm not wanting a backward step - I might wait for a fix for 0.8.4RC4 -
has the lack of dsdt.aml been
logged as a bug?

cmdrtuvok77 - SPOT ON! reset of BIOS RESOLVED - as instructed
ran NBI 0.8.2 once (rebooted using safe mode -x)
I can see the dsdt.aml file
then re-ran NBI 0.8.3RC4
The dsdt.aml file remains
bios reset stopped - no more pressing f2

The only issue I had was sound but another kext file solved that.
