Running 'Update Extra' on SL 10.6.2 causes KP after Restart #161

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install SL 10.6.2 on Dell Mini 10v, BT, 2GB, WWAN, BIOS A06 by connecting HD
via USB Bridge,
Run NBI 0.8.2 (no DSDT), then RC4 (no DSDT) then put HD back in 10v, rund NBI
0.8.2 again
generate DSDT then RC4 again.
2. No Sound (No Input Device in Sound CP) - Tried to use 'Update Extra' to
activate Sound as
recommended on mydellmini
3. -> could not boot anymore - KP. Fixed by taking HD out repeating step 1
again (without SL
installation).

What netbook are you using this on?
Dell Mini 10v 2GB, 160 HD, BT, WWAN, BIOS A06

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Normal restart - Got KP

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
SL 10.6.2 - Update Extra was installed by the above steps.

Please provide any additional information below.
Not critical, but may Update Extra does not do what it is supposed to on either
10.6.2 or BIOS
A06 ?
After fix all seems to work - although Safari Update to 4.04 also caused KP !
(See other issue)

Hope that helps somewhat !

Cheers,

M.

Hi, all this might be due to the installation of Cisco VPN Client software,
which
seems to be incompatible (have KP after installation with Cisco VPN Client, but
no
longer on a clean install). But now I am only running Safari 4.04 on OSX 10.6.1
have
not dared to update to 10.6.2 yet.

Best,

M.

I get the same KP both at 10.6 and 10.6.2 after running UpdateExtra.app. I'm
running
an HP mini 110-1127NR.
