What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Running the Operating System

What netbook are you using this on?

-Dell Mini 10v

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

-No Wifi button on the menubar, and can't set up Wifi in Netword Diagnostics

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

-Inspiron 1011 - Mac OS X 10.6.3

Please provide any additional information below.

-Wi-Fi Card: Dell Wireless 1397 802.11b/g

-I used Gizmodo's guide, which told me to use 0.8.5pre, the OS works great, but
no option to enable Wifi. While I am installing the OS onto the computer with
USB, the Wifi icon is on the menubar, but once I install the OS, no Wifi icon.
Am I missing something?

D4vin, I have solved this issue. After you have installed the operating
system, put the netbook installer program onto your Dell mini 10v, and patch
the whole system. Once it's done, reboot. When it turns back on wifi an sound
will work. The computer will run fast too.

P.S. yes, you have to remove everything on your USB stick so you can transfer
netbook install onto your netbook (unless you have another USB stick).

I tried that, but no such luck. Everything else works it's just the Wifi.

Weird thing is, theres wifi while I'm installing OSx as the netBook patches
have been applied before the install begins. But Once installed there's no
wifi.

Have the same exact issue. Same model 1011. Note. All network interfaces
disabled (except bluetooth) after installing with 0.8.5. If you go back to OS X
10.6, and use 0.8.4 RC, all works perfectly, but then you're limited on
upgrading.

It's the main part of a "Net" Book, and when it doesn't work, its just plain
frustrating.
