No audio for short sounds #89

What steps will reproduce the problem?
========================

There is a problem with audio and short sounds.

After booting the system you won't hear short sounds like erasing the recycle
bin, erasing a file,
and so on.

You can fix this problem only temporary for 2-3minutes if you press the key F7
(audio on/off).
You have to press f7 until the "click-sound" appears for turning sound on/off.

Now you can delete a file, erase you recycle bin or even you can hear a short
sound if you are
receiving mail.
But after 2-3 minutes or so, this fix doesn't work. You are at the same point,
and audio for short
jingles won't appear.

It seems, that OSX needs a longer time to initialize audio... For instance, you
hear sound for long
audio (youtube-videos, mp3-files and so on)

What netbook are you using this on?
Mini10v, BiosA04
USB legacy:off
Usb wake: off
Bluetooth:on

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
===========================================
OSX 10.6.1, NBI 0.8.3 RC1

Same problem occurs for me.

with 2 short Audio files you will hear the second.
Like move file to bin (no audio), then empty bin ( audio is played).

If you wait a few minutes between both actions (or sleep between) you won't
hear both of them.

I'm also on 10.6.1 fresh installed on a 10v with 0.83 RC1

FIX: download antipop.dmg (google it) to fix it. This keeps your sound system
'alive' by producing a null sound to
the soundsystem every some seconds. This has no performance issues on the 10v
and fixes the sound system
from not starting up before the short sound is already supposed to have played.
