Updated App No Fire #18

I got my cable last Friday and the red fire button worked every time I tried. However, the interval timer was erratic. With the newest app update that I got today (Monday), nothing triggers the shutter. I now get 'Please plug your Trigger Happy Remote into the audio jack on you device. No shutter fire in any mode. I have a Canon MK5D II and a HTC Incredible on Verizon.

The newest update caused phone to say, "plug in the cable". Cable was already plugged in. Headphone symbol was present in the top info bar. Phone - htc evo 4g Android - gingerbread

finally I got my Trigger Happy cable from the german customs. Unfortunately it is not working.

My setup: Nikon D80 Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 Android 2.3.3

I plugged the cable into the audio jack and started the Trigger Happy app (update from yesterday). I first tried "push to shoot" resulting in the error "Please plug your Trigger Happy Remote into the audio jack on your device.". But it is plugged in! When I unplug the cable Android tells me "Headphones disconnected.".

Why is the Trigger Happy Remote not recognized? Is it because of a defective cable? Or is it a problem within the app?

Another problem: when touching the cable (and moving it a little) at the end where it is plugged into the camera the camera triggers.

I got the latest version of the app and it has made no improvement.

I have tried two Android devices, a Galaxy Nexus and a Motorola Xoom.

In both cases, I went into the volume settings for the device and maxed out all volumes.

In the case of the Galaxy Nexus, interval shots cannot be longer than six or eight seconds. Exposures longer than that result in multiple shots being taken with varying shutter lengths.

On the Xoom, shutter length is short and random. If I set the app to give me a 15 second shutter, I get at least 15 photos with varying exposure times.

Just had a new version of the software push to my phone. No discernable improvement for my issue. A shutter length of 15 seconds results in two photos each time with a total exposure length of around 15 seconds (4.2 and 10.2 for example, or 9.4 and 5.2).

FYI, Latest update (9/11/12) still does not work for Sony A700.

When I attempt to fire the trigger happy it tells me I need to plug the cord into my device. I have double and triple checked and it is securely plugged into both the phone and camera. I have a D7000 and a Samsung Galaxy SII

I just again updated the app to a latest version. For a moment, the only (but valuable) improvement I see, app do not crashes any more in the HDR mode. All other issues related to a Bulb camera mode still persistent.

I just received my cable in the mail and it doesn't work, I've tried it with several different devices and no dice. It justs keeps saying please plug your trigger happy remote into the audio jack on your device, and it is plug into both the camera and the phone. I am using Android and I tried it with both my htc Rhyme phone and my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet, neither worked.

I have verified all of the connections are secure between my Canon EOS 5D Mark II and HTC EVO 4G, but the app continues to display "Please plug your Trigger Happy Remote into the audio jack on your device".

The phone itself displays the headphone icon when the cable is in place and the connections feel snug. I have tried cranking the media volume to maximum, but I don't think the app is even attempting to trigger the camera because that message comes up right away.

No shooting mode in the app recognizes the cable as being plugged in. I'm using an HTC EVO 4G running Android 2.3.5.

I've tried all the steps to get the device to fire and it still doesn't work. I'm using the E3 connector you sent me with an HTC Evo android cell phone with the app installed and updated, with a Canon T3i. My camera does work with a standard remote trigger so I know the problem is not with the camera. My cell phone's audio jack works with earphones and also through the ext audio jack on my car stereo so I doubt there's a problem with my cell. In the cell's music app, there is no sound check feature or option. I have the audio volume all the way up and have also tried using the remote at all audio volume levels. When I try to trigger my camera I get the message "please plug your trigger happy remote into the audio jack of your device". What next?

I have updated to the latest version, and my SGT 10.1 is firing, but not properly in HDR or Push to fire. Bulb is set on the camera.

My HTC Inc S is recognizing that an item is plugged in, but your app says the trigger happy is not plugged in.

When I try to use it with the latest update (on two different devices), I'm getting the message, "Please plug your Trigger Happy Remote into the audio jack on your device."

I've tried turning the media volume up and down, power cycling the phone, power cycling the camera, unplugging and replugging the remote. None of it works. Also, from the comments on the Play Store, LOTS of people are having the exact same problem. Android version 2.3.4 on my Droid X2, Nikon D5100 version 1.01

Do you have the most up-to-date Trigger Happy camera remote app? According to Play Store, yes: Trigger Happy version 1.0.11

I have recently have time to test the TH after some update of the Android app. Now I receive each time the error message saying that I have to plug in the cable. Previously there was no such message and after I have unplugged it I could hear very high pitch sound. Now there is no sound and no camera reaction - just the message. I can add that I have no problem with my audio socket and I am using Samsung Galaxy S1.

Using a Samsung 4G and an Olympus E410. After the last update, the app keeps telling me to plug in the trigger happy cable into my phone. It is plugged in and the media volume is full. I am using Version 1.0.11 of the app. My phone is a Samsung 4G Infuse that is running the Gingerbread.UCLB3 build. The firmware version is 2.3.6 and the Kernel version is 2.6.35.7-1997UCLB3-CL977492. My Olympus E-410 has the 1.0 version firmware.

I recently received my cord with a C3 fitting and cannot get it to work with my 7D and my Droid Incredible 2. When the cord is plugged in and I try to shoot, it gives me a pop up saying to connect the cord to the audio jack, which it already is. The camera will not fire. I have the volume turned up, I tried the camera in M,B, and P, and still nothing. Everything is updated to the latest version. The pop up only occurs when the cord is plugged into both the phone and camera.

Latest update force close on both of my devices. Push to shoot trips ok but releases whenever it wants. Will not stay open on hold. Interval shutter control does whatever it wants too. I have two devices, a SGT 10.1 and HTC Incredible S. Nikon D3100

I'm using a DROID RAZR maxx . I have a 5dmkii a 7d and a 50d, volume all the way up, plugged in tight to camera. Doesn't fire on any settings.

Camera is Sony Alpha 33, not sure what firmware and kind of tough to check at the moment. It’s working with a friends iphone so I expect it’s not the camera that is at fault.

Just updating to the most recent version of the TH app. Can’t test right now whether it will work then.

Android, 2.3.3 that is as far as they will go on the HTC Desire Z A7272. HTC Sense version 2.1

Things are working much better with the update to 1.0.14. Push to fire and interval both work perfectly. Bulb ramping has some weird timing issues but it's mostly usable. HDR is unfortunately not working at all. It actually causes an unexpected error every time. Things are looking up. Keep us updated!

I received my trigger happy cable 2 days ago, and wanted to test it today. I did connect my Canon EOS 50D with my HTC Desire smartphone, and downloaded the app from the android play store. However, nothing seems to work, even the simple fire button does not do anything. I did put my camera into manual mode, on manual focus, and on one-shot drive. On my phone, the sound is on, and I tried to fire the camera both with maximum and a lower volume. I tried this with the fire button, the interval and the HDR sections of the app. I checked the cable connections already a couple of times. It does make a light bleep sound when I push the fire button, but it does not fire the camera. Anything else I can try to make it work?

I got my N3 in the mail and tried using it with my Samsung Galaxy S3 and Nikon D90 and it is not triggering. I tried some of the steps found in the iOS troubleshooting guide but nothing is working under any of the options. I've tried it at all volume levels press and hold the big red button does nothign. Camera is set to Manual, AF off on both the camera and on the lens.
