Excess Firing #5

I have a T2i, an E3 connector, and an iPhone with the updated IOS app. When I connect the E3 cable to the camera, it either keeps the shutter firing when the connector is plugged in even if the iPhone app isn't connected. Then when I connect the iPhone app it still doesn't stop the camera from firing.

When I plug the trigger into my camera(canon eps 450d) it fires a photo straight away.

When running the time lapse or any other mode for that matter the camera would keep on firing instead of keeping the shutter open for the duration set in the app. I looked at your advice on the 1 other article on your site and tried everything mentioned in there even though my problem was different but not even that would help.

I have received an E3 cable for my Canon 60D and it does not work. I followed the troubleshooting instructions on this site to no avail. The camera responds intermittently and apparently randomly during the firing sequence
