started working on separate image skeletonization in hopes that the results will be more accurate than merely tracing green regions around DNA strands

this might not be necessary anymore, as the plan is to segment DNA strand image stacks and obtain an RMO file of 3D coordinates that can then be manually imported into KnotPlot
