Not sure if possible, it would be a nice to have :)

yes this is possible as far as I am aware, maybe would add a checkbox continuous for if a user wants that behaviour

Not possible with matplotlib implementation of Slider. I think matplotlib has a refresh limit anyways, it runs ok
