@kgpayne thanks for the issue! I'm working with the designers right now on this. Do you have any examples of registries or hubs that have a "what's new" feed / section? Sven has been doing a great job of keeping up with what's new for the Newseltter which does feel like a bit more appropriate venue 🤔
@tayloramurphy thanks! I think this is pretty common across multiple kinds of platforms (app stores, e-commerce, Goodreads, VOD etc.). Will dump some screenshots below.
Re: the newsletter, I disagree about it being a "more appropriate venue"; I think both are just as appropriate because they target different audiences. The newsletter targets people already using Meltano, whereas the Hub is accessible to anyone, and attracts people who are evaluating Meltano (i.e. visiting to see if we support their connectors). The "community favourites" assures visitors that their top plugins are not only supported but also loved by the Meltano community, and the "what's new" will hopefully include things they have heard about but not yet tried. We wan't them to feel like it's easier to evaluate exciting new tools via Meltano, even if they've never used Meltano before.
For context, this was somewhat prompted by the Evidence Utility launch 😅 Which raises the question of how curated the "what's new" entries are - we maybe care to promote some new things over others (e.g. Evidence over a new Tap for a very niche source).

@kgpayne thanks for sharing those. I'm inclined to keep these as part of a general product marketing push where we can have a flyout to "see what's new this month" on the Hub and have that link to a blog post or something similar.
At a minimum though we could likely have a search result list be ordered by last updated, which seems very doable.
The Hubs homepage is prime real estate we could use for celebrating new ✨ things and providing shortcuts to community favourites 🔖🙂
